Accused Hustler Casino Robber Charged with Violent Holdups

A man accused of threatening, assaulting, and robbing a woman in the parking area outside Hustler Casino in California was apprehended on multiple charges this week. 

Oshae Pollard, 21, from Los Angeles, was accused of audaciously stealing from the victim at the Gardena cardroom on August 25, law enforcement stated. 

Pollard noticed the woman in the parking lot and dashed over to her. He then reportedly shoved her onto the pavement. 

Victim Loses Teeth, Life in Danger 

Prosecutors stated that the victim, who has not been named, declined to surrender her purse and shouted for assistance. 

The two fought over her handbag before Pollard reportedly drew a semi-automatic pistol and placed it in the victim’s mouth, damaging several of her teeth.

"If you yell again, I’ll kill you,” Pollard threatened the victim,” prosecutors revealed.

According to authorities, Pollard managed to seize the purse and returned to a nearby vehicle before escaping. The bag held between $1,000 and $2,000 in cash. 

The delay was merely one in a sequence of armed thefts that Pollard is accused of participating in at parking lots in Los Angeles and Orange counties, according to prosecutors. 

Pollard faces accusations of disrupting commerce through robbery and utilizing a firearm in support of a violent crime. On Wednesday, he was seen in federal court in Santa Ana.

"The violence alleged in this complaint shocks the conscience,” Martin Estrada, US Attorney for the Central District of California, said in a statement. “It is essential that we hold perpetrators of violence accountable for victimizing our community. My office — through the Operation Safe Cities initiative — is collaborating with local law enforcement and using powerful federal tools to target the worst offenders of violent gun crime.”

From August 25 to September 22, Pollard is reported by Estrada to have carried out at least three armed robberies and one attempted armed robbery. 

On August 26, Pollard and an associate reportedly stole from a taxi driver who was in a cab at the parking area of a Winchell’s Donut House in Carson. The victim was assaulted in the face and threatened with a gun before his wallet and cellphone were taken. 

On that same day, Pollard and an associate reportedly stole from two individuals near their Rolls-Royce and Ferrari vehicles in the parking area of the Fashion Island shopping center in Newport Beach, according to prosecutors. 

Pollard reportedly aimed a semi-automatic handgun at the victim beside the Rolls-Royce and insisted on getting all of the victim’s money. The victim surrendered a high-end watch, a wallet, and the keys to the Rolls-Royce. 

When the other victim tried to escape in the Ferrari, Pollard sprinted to the car and shot his gun into the high-end vehicle, officials reported. The victim was not injured. 

The total value of the items taken at the shopping center was approximately $44,000. 

Injured Victim Kicks Thief 

On September 22, authorities reported that Pollard also stole from a man who was getting into a vehicle parked at the South Coast Plaza shopping center in Costa Mesa.

"Give me the watch. Give me the ring. Give me the car,” Pollard reportedly shouted at the victim.

The man declined, prompting Pollard to fire at his left hand, then aimed the gun at the man's chest, according to prosecutors. 

He then warned the victim, “You’re a dead man,” as stated by prosecutors. 

Pollard then reportedly shot the man in the left thigh while the victim was taking off his watch. 

Instead of surrendering, the victim started to kick Pollard, causing him to fall to the ground from the force. The victim managed to kick Pollard multiple times within approximately 15 seconds. 

Pollard then bolted to a nearby Kia Forte and escaped, according to prosecutors. 

The victim received treatment for the gunshot wounds and healed from the injuries, prosecutors indicated.
